I know this post should probably be on the General Discussion board, but, most of the people in game that I know that are not in my corp, read the Corporation, Alliance and discussion board only.
I am quitting Eve and Online gaming, for Real Life. Eve totally consumed me from day 1 in my ibis mining with other n00bs in the belts of Kisogo. Since then I have played more than 2 peoples fair share of eve, playing during the day whie working and till early hours of the morning. I have been playing Eve now for about a year and a half, and met and played with a lot of people. Some didn't like my chosen profession or smack talking lvl 5 skill. Others I got to know became good friends. Some I have lost contact with in game, Others I am still in daily contact with.
Unfortunately, Eve is starting to ruin my real life. Instead of playing with my boys, or reading them a story before bed, I have been playing Eve. Instead of going to bed with my wife, I stay up and play Eve till ungodly hours. Instead of learning new things for work, I have been playing Eve. Its been nagging at me for a few weeks that I should stop playing, but I have been ignoring it, because I didn't want to. Some things happened yesterday and today (nothing bad) that made me suddenly snap out of the trace I have been in and look around, and see what it is I have been missing. Cutting down is just not an option. I will always get hooked againa nd be playing eve 18/7 again. So I'm throwing in the towel, packing away my online gaming gloves, and getting back to reality.
I'm done saying goodbye to my corp mates, who I will sorely miss and sad to say goodbye to. I have known some of them since way before Eve, and they are the hardest to say goodbye to.
To everyone I have met, Close friends, not such close friends, enemies and victims alike, I wish you all the very best. Each of you have made the game a pleasure to play. Eve was never about the graphics, or the game, or the ships or the mods, but rather about the social interaction. It was a great flying with the likes of Evol, RKK, m0o, BNC, kr0m, DIE and Nemisis, even most recently some of the Shinra guys. You ALL rock! May the gods of war always be on your side. Happy hunting!

P.S. No you can't have my stuff, its going to a good cause.
